Tom Jacobs has been employed with Summit DD since 2003. His primary duties include development and construction of new facilities, property acquisition and overseeing operational needs and maintenance of all existing facilities. Tom is also the Executive Director of Summit Housing Development Corporation (SHDC), a non-profit 501(C)(3) corporation that works closely with the Summit DD to provide affordable, accessible residential housing options for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Tom has held his State of Ohio real estate license since 1988, with over twenty million dollars in sales. He has experience in commercial leasing, sales and management and has owned over 200 apartments and managed over 1,000 residential properties and has owned and managed a 74 room hotel Holiday In Express.
Tom attended the University of Toledo where he majored in business.

Buck Buchanan, Construction and Maintenance Supervisor for SHDC, has been with the corporation since its inception in 1992. During this period he has helped maintain, renovate and develop over 80 dwellings for people with disabilities that wish to live in a Summit Housing residential setting. Buck has also been very instrumental in acquiring grants for home modifications and vehicles for the maintenance staff, to better serve our tenants. Buck is also the Operations Supervisor and Health and Safety Officer for the Summit County Board of DD, where he has been employed for over 25 years.
